In my opinion, the most important national issue this election is the economy. As all of you know we are severely in debt, and getting worse daily. Besides the suggestion of Bush's 700 billion dollar bail-out, there is a lot going on. The war has drained us, the stock market is plummeting, and most of the world will be struggling to pay their bills for the next few months. AIG, Lehman Brother, Fanny Mae, and Freddie Mac are all going bankrupt. Bush plans on bailing out AIG, and using our governments money to do it. wether or not this should be done is still bouncing off of different sides in my brain. Go into debt? Let AIG fail? Go into debt? Let AIG fail? Will either option even affect me? I'm not completely sure, but the odds are yes. So, i think I'll leave it up to mr.w to decide for me.
One big local issue that concerns me is transportation. Here in VA especiall, our transportation is lacking. We have a Metro rail that needs to be funded in order to reach Dulles, and funding is a big complication. Should they raise tolls, fund commercial businesses, take it from the government? We have no idea. Our goal is to be earth friendly, but if we cant use the metro, shouldn't we be allowed to drive? Also, our roads. They are in dire need of some T.L.C., with cracks and wat faded lines everywhere. We need a plan...
Up to this point, the canidates have been succesful in the debates. Both have appeared equally to me. When Obama would appear stronger in one light, McCain would dominate in another. So far it is still tied, although i would like the think that McCain is leading, he gets kudos for holding his own. When McCain would argue something, Obama would agree with the majority of them, seems to me like somebody cant decide on his own. And another point that irked me was although SENATOR Obama was accurately identified, he rudely refused to call McCain anything but John. Show some respect for your elders :).
So far the media has been overwhelmingly strong in this debate. They appear so starved for anything, that they're willing to broadcast exactly that, anything. With the confusing ads from Obama about Joe Biden, and the less stressful ads, were torn. But thankfully for SNL, everyone has a fair opinion......i guess.
Until next time,
Adieu

WEEK 1 - My Intro
Because this is my first blog, I feel the need to let everyone know where I stand. If you hadn't noticed from my blog name, I am a Republican. And I'm damn proud of it. I am generally very conservative, but I do make exceptions. I am absolutely against abortion. I don't think there's anything worse in life, than to take a life, especially one of an unborn child. It's just not right in my opinion, to end a life before you even give it a chance. I support our 43rd President George W. Bush and I support our troops out there dying for us everyday. I will be voting for McCain and Palin this election, I would not be caught dead voting for Obama. I feel McCain has the most experience hands down and is going to improve our country while keeping the people happy. He wants to remain in Iraq until their new government it stable which is the best thing we could do right now. And he plans to cut taxes to improve the economy, and let us keep our money like we should. He understands were suffering right now and promised to veto and pork barrel spending amendment that crossed his desk. I was surprised that he chose a woman as his VP candidate, however i believe she will do a great job. And it's not because I'm a woman, it's because she has a realistic view of the typical American life, and like all normal Americans, her family has problems too. That's all the time I can spend on this now, because life's too short to be a democrat.
